National Cat Day

I am a dog lover and not much of a cat-loving person.  In my youth, we would have at least 3-5 dogs roaming inside the family compound.  At some stage, we had nearly 10 dogs.  We gave them some cool names like Waray, Pepsi Cola, Coca-Cola, common ones like Brownie, Blackie, Whitie, and my all-time favorite, Spot.  He was my constant companion, as we would sit for hours outside my house, me gazing at the night sky (wondering what my future wold be), while he would gently snuggle beside me.  But coming to Aotearoa New Zealand and living in a rented house, makes it impossible to have a dog.  It was good that the landlord allowed us to have a cat, Ginger.  It's your day today and I'm getting to be fond of her now.

Hot 'n Cold, On 'n Off

This is my nth attempt to continue to write blog posts regularly.  I really wish that this time I will be able to sustain this writing/blogging life!  The demands of living day-by-day (to have food on the table, pay the bills, etc.) oftentimes draws me away from my writing/blogging life!  How I admire those who write full-time and are able to sustain their lifestyle through that.  I can feel that this time around, it will be different, that I'll be able to sustain and write/blog more often.  One primary reason aside from the heaps of stories that surrounds me, is that I'm not getting any younger.  This time is a make or break period for me, no more hot 'n cold, off 'n off moments!  I have to make this work.  They say three things will define a persons stay in this world: plant a tree (which I've done heaps of), raise a family (I have the most wonderful and loving family) and write a book (well, I guess a blog would be close enough).  That's my motivation!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
